Other things to note Getting Around: Renting a car is advisable, there are walking distance amenities but supermarket, pharmacies, shops, clinics, etc. are a drive away. In the dry season (December - July) It is ok to rent a 2-wheel-drive vehicle but if planning on exploring the area, make sure it has good clearance as there are still many dirt roads. If coming in the green season (August - September) the best is to rent a 4X4 vehicle. Climate in the north pacific part of Guanacaste, Costa Rica: The temperature stays constant, starting at 28C or 82F to extremely hot temperatures of 40C or 105F the levels of humidity vary. January through March are our "summer" months so expect lots of sun and dry weather, temperatures are hot, but the early mornings and late afternoons provide a very nice breeze... April and May tend to be the hottest months of the year, it varies from dry to humid but overall, extremely high temperatures. Once the rain starts anytime from May through July it is a bit fresher due to precipitation (this also means humidity level rise). From August through October we have heavy rain falls, especially in October. The temperatures are humid and hot but can get cooler in the early mornings and late afternoons also. Sun is always strong so make sure you pack up hats and sunscreen :)
